WHY DO WE SOMETIMES HAVE OLDER PUPPIES AVAILABLE FOR PLACEMENT:

We sometimes have puppies that are older available for placement for a number of reasons - one of them being that if they are of "smaller" size we may have to wait longer to be able to get them vet checked, microchipped etc.

Sometimes we have older puppies because we were hoping to keep them for ourself only to have them not end up not maturing out as we had hoped they would (maybe too small, bite may have gone off which means nothing really for a pet - but is not suitable for us to keep).   There can be many reasons why a puppy may not be suitable for us to keep but in turn would make them a wonderful pet for someone to enjoy.

And sometimes it may be as simple as we have not yet found them their suitable "forever" home.

But please, don't rule out an older puppy due to age.   They will still make wonderful, fun, loving companions that also may require a little less training in the beginning run.

WHAT TYPE OF HOME DO WE LOOK FOR WHEN PLACING OUR PUPPIES/RETIRING ADULTS:

We look to place our puppies/retiring adults in "pet homes" only - which means they are to be spayed/neutered at the appropriate age.

We also do not believe in the over use of vaccinations with our puppies - or our adults.   So please be prepared to do your research regarding this prior to contacting me so that you will have some knowledge on the subject.

We believe more in doing the "titres" (blood test) to check the dogs immunity as the proof is in the blood!   There is absolutely no need for all the vaccines that are being injected in to these animals when the proof is out there that even one small dose done at the right age is enough to give many years (if not lifelong) immunity.

For our retiring adults we do prefer a home situation with a fenced yard (especially for the papillons) - and we also prefer a home where there will not be any young children.

We can be a bit more lenient when it comes to placing the puppies but we do still prefer a home with easy outdoor access and fenced yard.   Dogs need the sun and fresh air and lots of exercise to maintain overall good health - and for the puppies - proper development.   We will consider homes with children when its a puppy placement - but age of the children and how they interact with the puppy will be an overall deciding factor as to whether or not it will be a suitable placement.

We also ask that all family members be "on board" for a new addition coming into the home and that if you have not had a dog before - or been around dogs that much to go out and get some exposure to be sure that a new retiring adult/puppy is right for you.

Papillons are "not" considered to be hypoallergenic.

Maltese are considered to be a hypoallergenic breed but still - depends on what exactly you are allergic to so best to be sure you are ok around dogs prior to coming out and taking one home.
